Aqua and Mint Tablescape for Christmas
Come see my beautiful Christmas dinner table decorations in aqua and mint!
So have you been convinced over the last couple of weeks that blue can be fabulous at Christmas? I have shared some pretty blue DIY opaque glass ornaments and a blue Christmas pallet sign… but if you are still not sure then I have a little more Christmas table decor inspiration for you today in the form of a tablescape. I love the way the aqua and mint blend together and how the red accents look so crisp against these watery hues…
This is not a super fancy tablescape… but it includes the basics – a soft blue tablecloth (which, by the way is actually a curtain panel- shhhhhh) – some silver chargers, mint green Mexican pottery plates, and turquoise Mexican glass wine tumblers. We aren’t really fancy around here- we don’t actually own a single piece of ‘china’ or crystal. Our Mexican dish and glassware is as high end as it gets.
I think the addition of some natural greenery always makes for a stunning Christmas table- and in this case I just wrapped some fragrant cedar cuttings from our yard with a white ribbon and attached one of my opaque glass painted Christmas ornaments. Easy, quick, and super effective.
The holiday centerpiece is made up of my super thrifty yarn and feather Christmas trees set atop an old reclaimed wood board that I salvaged from our scrap wood pile. I like how it sets the mini Christmas trees up above the level of the plates – in fact it lives on our table all the time (not just during fancy meals).
So do you think it looks “Christmas’y” – even though it is full of blues?
I love it – but I must admit…. if you haven’t caught on already, I am a bit of a blue ‘fan’.
And I have a few bloggy friends sharing some of their own blue Christmas designs today as well – both tablescapes and blue mantel décor ideas (you will see my mantel next week – and “surprise surprise” it includes some blue).
Head over to check out what they have to share today!

Your trees are so cute on the board centerpiece, and are just the right casual note for the place settings. Fun!

Thank you Angela!!
So apparently my comment didn’t go thru…so I will say it again! I LOVE your table! Especially those mint plates! I might need them! Lol!
Thanks for being so dedicated as to comment twice Amber!! I didn’t get the first one so I’m glad you stuck around:) I love those mint plates- I confess that I bought them from my friend who was going to garage sale/sell them – for $15 for the set of 8 plates, salad plates, and bowls. So stunning!!
I love the blue and green at Christmas! We live near the Texas coast and I love anything that reflects the beach and all it’s lovely colours 🙂
Hi Tricia!! I love those beachy colours too because we are on a lake- so it is fun to have some beachy feeling touches inside as well:) So thrilled you came by!!
Aqua just happens to be my favorite color and I love it with white and silver for winter~ your table with the pops of red is really cute too, and the soft greens, such a different and refreshing color blend for the holidays!
Aqua is so pretty – and I love the cool combo of silver and green with it too. White just makes everything better, doesn’t it? So fresh! Thanks so much for your visit and comments!!
Love your table….and your centerpiece is stunning!
Thank you Christine- it was a fun project to make… if you haven’t seen how then I shared the details here. Super thrifty!!
LOVE, and I mean LOVE the centerpiece :)))
Thanks Shannon! That was my fun thrifty project of the season… I shared the how-to here (as well as DIYing the craft form tree cones)… I love how it turned out as well. So honoured and thrilled you came by to visit!!
I’m a believer!! Love the blue! If I didn’t already have so many red and gold Christmas decorations, I’d love to decorate with blue! Love the opaque ornaments and fresh greenery 🙂
I hear ya Christy- I have a fair number of red and green as well… it is actually funny to look in our ornament box, you can really see the stages of the colours I was into for a period of a few years…
Really lovely Krista – I love your Mexican crockery – beautiful!
Thank you Petra!! I bought that off of a co-worker friend for $15 for the 8 dinner plates, salad plates, and bowls!! She had gotten it for her wedding and never used it and wanted to downsize. What luck!!
I adore your mint and silver table setting! I think it’s good to mix things up a bit and do something totally unexpected. It really gives things the WOW factor……x
Thank you Mimi!! I agree, and I love to play around with new ways to combine old things!!
Oh my goodness. TOO cute!! And I love the pops of red. Red and blue is a favorite color combo of mine ;).
Thank you Amy!! Red and blue does always work so well together- and depending on the shade of blue you choose it can give such a different feeling.
Very nice! The whole thing came together so well now that I see all the elements together. I love your Mexican dishes!
Thank you! I think it worked well together… despite the unique color scheme for Christmas:) I love those dishes too- quite a find. I bought them from my friend/coworker for $15 for the whole set (8 plates, 8 salad plates, 8 bowls). I have never owned ‘nice’ dishes so I consider these my ‘china’!!
What a fun table! I love your curtain panel tablecloth and your dishes are beautiful!
Thank you so much Carrie!! I saw that curtain panel and knew I could use it somehow – pillows, etc – because I just love the color and pattern of it!
Love this fresh table decor and table settings!! Love the green and blue!!! Pinning! XO!
Thanks Amy! And thank you so much for the pin!!
I love the mint and robin egg together! I’m always a sucker for blue of any kind at Christmas. Lovely photos!
Thank You Dana – I love using blue at Christmas too- and any time of year! Thanks so much for your visit and comment:)
This is one of my favorite color combinations too Krista!! The trees and the natural cedar make it look very festive! I love it 🙂
Thank you Cindy- I also love how calm and peaceful the watery colours look together. Nothing beats a little fresh cedar at Christmas time!
Krista, I think you table is beautiful and full of holiday spirit! The trees look beautiful in the center of the table and I love the greenery tucked into the napkins. Thanks for sharing! Have a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend!
