Beautifully Organized Small Laundry Rooms
I am sharing the best tips on how to organize a small laundry room.
Morning, friends! And welcome to Week 3 of my ten week organizational challenge and plan!
This week’s focus is on the laundry room specifically a small laundry room!
In our home, the laundry room is combined with a bit of a mud room space. In fact, the “laundry room / mud room” is actually just a glorified hallway leading from our garage into the house. We keep all of our shoes out in the garage, but hang coats and bags etc. in our laundry/mud room. It tends to be a bit of a drop zone, and gets a lot of daily use.
The “laundry room” portion of the space is actually just a small closet alcove. I’ll be sharing more about my own process for getting this area organized and functional later in the week. Part of the process of getting things organized always begins with me researching. And the best place to research for practical and pretty life-hacks? Pinterest, of course. For even more inspiration, you can follow my Pinterest Board all about beautiful and well-organized laundry rooms.
Now let’s get “researching”, shall we??
This laundry room inspired me because it’s also a tiny space without a sink – like our laundry alcove. I love the pretty countertop and the open shelving makes it easy to find and grab what you need! Via bhg

Check out all the storage jammed into this tiny area Via So Domino – with laundry storage and a hanging area as well as a tiny countertop space. Plus, that aqua colour!
This adorable and cheery laundry room makeover reveal Via Lil Luna scored points with me for it’s fun use of color – but it has lots of cute and simple but functional storage ideas out in the open. I believe we want laundry room storage to be easy to access – because we want to spend as little time doing laundry as well possibly can, am I right?
Jenn over at Via Clean and Scentsible always has awesome organizational ideas – and her laundry room is also combined with a bit of a hallway and other storage area. I love the cute countertop storage solutions she uses.
How fun is this adorable laundry room makeover by East Coast Creative for The Home Depot Blog – It shows how you can get a fun and practical laundry room in a tiny space. Check out the pegboard on the side walls for extra storage, brilliant!

Jamie over at So Much Better with Age recently renovated her tiny mud room and laundry room space and you have to see how much function she jammed into a very small area! Plus it’s stunning and light and airy, as is everything that she does.
One of my favourite cute and fun laundry rooms is this Laundry Room Makeover Reveal Via View Along the Way – and it was done on an incredible budget as well. They took a blank and boring wall and added a graphic stencil, redid the vinyl floors with paint (yes!!), and added practical and functional shelving and cabinetry – you’ll want to check out their whole reveal!
If I have to have a tiny laundry room, then this space Via Home Bunch is pretty much my dream. I mean, that cabinetry. That farmhouse sink?! Plus they managed to pack in a hanging bar and open shelving for all you really need. Perfection.

Although this is a bigger laundry room space then some, I do like the addition of the hanging bar over the laundry machines – so smart! And really, the whole space is so clean and pretty with all that built in cabinetry. Via decorpad

Love this blog, can’t help but wonder what everyone is keeping in those adorable little containers in the laundry though! Really mainly large things like overflow pantry (paper towels and party plates) and detergent/reusable shopping bags/iron/cleaning supplies in mine!
Great inspiration Krista! Now I want to go spruce up our laundry room!
Thank you Denise! I’m super excited about getting ours back into good shape!
Like the other rooms in my house my laundry isn’t that organised but it could be worse
I agree Jo-Anne! Ours wasn’t crazy – but it definitely does become a “drop zone” and ends up with a lot of extra junk in it all the time! I can’t wait to get it all back into shape:)
