Lake Cottage Style Christmas Tablescape

Come and steal all the details from my lake cottage Christmas table setting that is going to wow you!

12+ Days of Christmas Projects and Tours poster.

Christmas dinner.

Can you believe that it’s just around the corner?

Especially for us. We are hosting not one, but two Christmas dinners this year. And the first one is this coming Sunday!

One of my favourite things about hosting a big holiday dinner is the tablescape design. I love coming up with pretty little details that make our home feel extra welcoming and cozy around the holidays. And this year I kept our Christmas tablescape design in line with the Lake Cottage Christmas feel in the rest of our home…

Keeping our dining table in line with the lake cottage feel of the rest of our home (whether at Christmas or all year around) means that I incorporate a great deal of coastal blues and green into the design through the demijohns, plates, and natural greenery.

I also added in lots of soft white and a good balance of natural elements through the white antlers and white painted pine cones, and then topped it off with a hit of red in the plaid and the cranberries surrounding the candles.

An arial view of the table setting.

My favourite touch might be the easy-to-whip-up chair backers that I made using a mix of fresh natural greenery and one painted pinecone ornament.

Evergreen branches with a painted pine cone are tied to the back of the wooden dining room chairs.

Large blue clear glass containers as vases with a branch of evergreen on the table.

Fresh greenery tied to the chair.

A glass candle holder with cranberries in it and a candle that is lit.

The light blue/green plates and sisal rope chargers on the table.

A small glass canning jar with a small sprig of evergreen on the table.

I will be sharing the DIY on my napkins and the fluffy fur napkin rings in the next few days as well…

There is a candle, small tied logs, a plaid runner, and blue plates on the table.

There is a neutral sisal rug underneath the dining room table.

This year I’m particularly excited about hosting this year because we get to give our new extra long dining table a serious test run. It can comfortably seat 8 and has two leaves that mean it can seat 14 (or maybe even 16). I can’t wait to start creating wonderful family memories around it.

  1. Thank you for sharing these beautifull christmas eve tablescape. I love all of them, but yours gives us a kind of a cozy feeling. Don’t know if its the tuorquise, or the markers on the table and the plates’ color, or even the wood table with no cloath over it, just the runner… I just loved it and I’m going to share it and the others on my blog, with the links of each one. They are too pretty no to be shared. Love. XOXO
