Lake House Dock Tour {with our new fab outdoor furniture!}

Come see this beautiful lake house dock tour with beautiful outdoor furniture.

It may be nearing the end of August but, around here, we aren’t ready to let go of summer and the beautiful weather anytime soon.

While some parts of Canada and the US are back in school already; we have two weeks left to go of “summer vacation” and we are wringing out every last drop of enjoyment that we possibly can.

Labour Day hits and back to school arrives, but it doesn’t mean we stop spending time outdoors. Some years we manage to enjoy beautiful, warm weather well into September. And when you live in a foggy, rainy climate for most of the year, you tend to soak up every last bit of Vitamin D that you can!

Outdoor Patio Furniture

One of our favourite outdoor spaces in the summer is a space I’ve never shared on the blog before; probably because until recently it was a fairly disastrous mix of old worn furnishings tossed together haphazardly. I’m thrilled to say that, now, with the addition of some gorgeous new lounge furniture by Keter, the dock is now my favourite place to hang out. And why wouldn’t it be….

Outdoor furniture on the dock.

The furniture is flanked by two pots of yellow flowers.

Our house {which is our full time home, not just a summer home}, is south facing so we get a good amount of sun on the dock all day long. We set up our outdoor tent every year to grant us much needed shade; but this year is the first year it actually feels like a welcoming and comfortable outdoor room thanks to the addition of this California Lounge Set. Honestly, I may never want to leave!

There is an outdoor table with chairs on the dock.

I originally ordered just one of the California Sets, but once I received and setup our new dock furniture I loved it so much that I ordered two more outdoor lounge chairs and another table to round out the area. I truly couldn’t be happier with the quality – the material is super hard and sturdy and I know it isn’t going to break and chip apart like the sofa set on our deck is starting to do. It also setup very quickly and easily, and the cushion material is soft, durable, and dries really quickly.

We plan to keep this furniture outdoors (but under cover) in the winter and bring the cushions in. But I can already tell that this set will be hardy enough to weather the elements easily. Just a quick spray off in the spring and it will be ready for another season outdoors…

A lantern and binoculars is on the outdoor table.

Our new dock setup is already enjoying tons of use; I just wish I’d had it organized and setup earlier in the summer so we could have used it when all our overnight guests were here!

We definitely enjoy lounging out here; but we do a lot more than that. The dock becomes the center of our time during summer afternoons; it’s a place to kick back and relax with friends, to eat watermelon and judge diving competitions, or to relax and read our newest book or magazine.

In addition to the seating set, we have two of the matching loungers. We’ve never had any kind of loungers before and I have to tell you. They. Are. AMAZING. Isn’t is crazy how you go years and years “making do” and then once you order something you love, you can’t even remember what you did before you had it?? Of course, it’s only now that our boys have gotten older and more independent that we can actually sit and relax on the dock for an extended period of time.

I’m so excited about future summers on the dock with this furniture; it would also be perfect up on our main deck… in fact, I love it way more than the set we have on our deck so you never know where it might end up next season:)  Hope you are enjoying the last days of summer!
