It’s funny where colour schemes can come from.
Our whole house colour scheme is actually based on this teal-grey paddle…
It used to be whole… now it’s rather broken.
When we first moved into our house, we bought ourselves a little basic boat for the lake. It came with an “emergency” paddle.
This blue paddle. That was the paddle.
My three year old son promptly broke it in two with a simple tap on the ground.
I’m thinking that if we had been stranded in the middle of the lake, it might not have been quite what we needed to get us home.
So perhaps its a blessing in disguise that it broke in two and became part of our decor instead of part of our boat emergency back-up supplies…
Anyhow, I loved the colour of this old paddle so so so much that I had it colour matched.
And the match was Aegean Teal (Benjamin Moore). I used that as the colour for our front door and our coffee table… and things kind of went from there.
The other colours on that paint chip made for a perfect watery blue lake house colour scheme.
And so the story of our house paint colours goes…
All paint colours are by Benjamin Moore.
Our front door is painted Aegean Teal and the walls in the hallway are Colorado Gray.
They are on the same paint chip at Ben Moore…
Our dining room and kitchen walls are painted Whispering Spring, which is also on the same paint chip as Aegean Teal and Colorado Gray.
And the hood fan and planked paneling in our kitchen are painted Wedgewood Gray
Our living room walls and trim are painted Simply White.
The coffee table is Aegean Teal (same colour as the front door).
Our main bathroom upper walls are painted in Hale Navy
Our bedroom is painted Cloud White (the board and batten paneling) and the other walls are Seafoam.
Our ensuite is Ash Blue and Cloud White
The boys’ bedroom is painted Cloud White and the stripes are Nacho Cheese, Rapture, and North Sea.
Their closet base colour is also North Sea with Oyster and Gold Stencil Cream (Royal Design Studio) for the trees.
Our basement is painted Simply White with Hale Navy feature walls accents
