Simple Stunning DIY Feather Ornaments
I love a simple and quick craft that has stunning results…and these DIY Feather Ornaments totally fit the bill. The pictures hardly do them justice- they have such a light, airy, ethereal feel to them and the lights from the tree make them glow…
This is such a quick and easy project that I whipped off 18 of them in about 10 minutes.
To make them you will need:
– glass ornaments (I used faux glass ones from Walmart- real glass wouldn’t survive for long around here)
– feathers
– twine or ribbon to hang them with
– scissors (optional)
The basics:
Start by removing the top from your glass (or faux glass) balls
Stuff the feathers into the ornaments – cutting the base ends of the feathers off if they are too long and hard to bend…
Fill them to taste- you may like the look of only a couple of feathers, or you may wish to fill it with several… it is entirely up to you at this point!
Place the cap back on and you are done! You just need to add some twine or ribbon to hang them with.
I made some in blue and some in white….
And some in different sizes as well…
I love how they look on our little Christmas tree…

Where do you get the feathers? I looked at the craft store (HL) and thought the feathers there looked cheap. I would love to make these because they are SO pretty. Thank you.
Love the idea. It might be pretty to add some glitter with the feather and shake it all up. The tree lights should make it sparkle.
What a simple concept, but such a pretty result! You come up with such clever ideas! XO
OOohh! I love these! So pretty! Off to check out your Christmas living room/dining room tour. I’m a bit behind, hopefully will get some decorating done this weekend! Have a good one. Sharon
Anything to do with feathers I just love 😀 I can’t find any clear baubles down my neck of the woods unfortunately – you are so lucky to have heaps of them 🙂
they are gorgeous Krista! what a great idea you had, never thought of that! okay, have to pin this too right away! 😉
Love this! So simple but they are gorgeous. I tried your method of pouring paint inside glass ornaments to make them a different colour – turned out awesome. Thanks for all the great tutorials for the holidays 🙂
Krista, this is a really great idea – simple but stunning! Love that I’m getting some inspiration for a big old box of clear ornaments I have sitting here! These look so pretty on your tree! Thanks for sharing and pinning! Have a wonderful Thursday!
