Happy Spring!

Isn’t it exciting that it was the first day of Spring yesterday?!?!

So – it’s official. It’s here!

And guess what else it is right now?

National Craft Month!!

I’m super exciting today to be teaming up with Wayfair to share my VERY. FIRST. BLOG. CRAFT. EVER.

All over again!

These cute, quick & easy, DIY Map Magnets were the very first craft that I ever shared on my blog and it was really fun to make some more of these since I gave all my originals away as gifts!

You are going to  love making these!

They are so quick and easy – and turn out so well!

The materials that you will need are:

– clear, roundish glass “rocks” (mine are from the floral section of the dollar store)
– Mod Podge and a paintbrush
– scissors and a pencil
– maps to cut up  (I used an Atlas from a thrift store)
– magnets and a hot glue gun (I bought my magnets at my local dollar store in the craft section)

To make them, all you do is trace around the map with your pencil and then cut out the shape.

Apply Mod Podge to the back of the glass rock, and place the map down on the Mod Podge – adjusting it to fit the shape correctly.

Then just add another layer of Mod Podge over the back of the map to seal it in.

Let it dry, then use a hot glue gun to attach a magnet to the back.

Done!

You want to make sure you use decently size/strong enough magnets that they are able to hold up the weight of the rock in addition to the paper etc. that you plan to use them for.

Cute, right?

Thanks again to Wayfair for the chance to revisit this fun, quick & easy DIY Map Magnets craft.

Did you know that in addition to having a zillion things home decor, Wayfair is also a great source for all kinds of arts and crafts supplies as well as all kinds of gorgeous baskets, bins, boxes, and buckets for craft storage supplies!

I had almost forgotten about these since I gave all my originals away – they make amazing DIY gifts since you can personalize them based on the map you use (choose special places that friends have been).

But now I have some more and can use them to hold up my boys’ artwork on our fridge (thank gosh for stainless steel that is actually magnetic!!).
