Summer Front Porch Tour

Come see my front porch all decorated for summer!

Slowly but surely we are making our way through all of our spring jobs. It’s taking a while, with our boy’s busy baseball schedules this year; but we are getting there…

And with summer just around the corner it was certainly time to get the front porch cleaned up and ready for the new season! After all, it is the first spot where we greet visitors and guests, so I want it to be as cheery and welcoming as possible. And today I’ve joined up with some talented bloggers to share our summer entry way tours; all hosted and organized by the lovely Taryn from Design, Dining, and Diapers.

Our Renovated Home

If you are hopping over from Christina’s Adventures, then welcome! If this is your first time here, then you can read more about me and this blog here. We live on a lovely lake on Vancouver Island in BC, Canada. We’ve been working on turning our builder basic home into a place we love for a little over five years now. Most of the inside of the house has been renovated and decorated and redecorated and this year we have moved on to working on upgrading our exterior. I shared the “before” pictures and our plans for our exterior here, as well as our progress in adding a new split rail fence here.

If you’ve been following for a while, then you may notice that the porch decor has changed a little.

In anticipation of the siding change that is currently happening on the lake side of the house, and will make it’s way around to the front side soon enough, I decided to simplify and clean things up a little.

The blue and white house by the lake.

I’ve let go of the bench and chalkboard that you may have seen during my spring front porch tour; and simplified our porch decor by using only a few pretty shade pots and a couple of simple accessories. The Vintage Painted Paddle and Pottery Barn Knockoff Faux Succulent Wreath are both DIY projects that I shared and you can make yourself, at home! Our door is painted in Benjamin Moore’s Aegean Teal. Can you tell I love blues??

There is a green wreath on the front door.

There are potted pink plants and green plants in a blue planter on the front porch.

I’m going to be sharing some more details about these shade pots that I put together for our front porch; and every summer I always love to grab a few pretty summer ferns to place around in the shadier areas of our yard. Ferns are such a classic and bring so much beautiful, lush green to a space.

There is a small silver table on the porch.

A large fern is in the corner of the porch.

The blue door to the house is slightly open revealing a seat just inside.

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing the rest of our beautiful summer foyer, along with our kitchen!

Come on back to see some more…

Just inside the house there is an upholstered chair with a floral pillow beside a hallway table.

Until then, I invite you to pop over to the next spot on today’s Summer Entry Way blog hop… head over to see what Alicia is sharing with us at A Burst of Beautiful!

Hooks with a coat and hats are on it.

And don’t forget to make your way around the whole loop, today. There are some amazingly beautiful summer decor ideas that are being shared!

  1. I love your porch! I’m a new subscriber now. Can how tell me how you attached your star to the porch wall? It looks like siding. Did you use siding anchors? Thanks.

  2. Just curious what paint/treatment you used on your concrete steps. I’d love to redo ours that are cracked and ugly! Thanks!

  3. So pretty. That door color is stunning and the decor is just enough, not too much. Sometimes editing is my best update. Beautiful pictures too btw.
