My Top 15 of 2015: a Crazy Year in Review

Wow. It has been quite the year.

I literally CAN. NOT. BELIEVE. That 2015 is about to come to a close.

For me, this year has gone by faster then any year has seemed to go by before.

Too fast.

Three big renovations (two entire houses plus finishing the kitchen), were a little much, even by this housie’s standards.

I definitely have some house and project goals for 2016, but there is nothing that will require anywhere near the same level of time and energy commitment that our rental properties involved. I’m glad we did them, because we had goals we were working towards for our boy’s financial future. But tw0-houses-in-one-year is something we won’t be repeating again anytime soon.

I can’t wait to share more with you all about my plans for 2016, but today let’s focus on wrapping up 2015 with my Top 15 of the year…

highlights

We started 2015 off with a bang by taking ownership of our first investment property and set about renovating it from top-to-bottom (all DIY and on a very tight budget). during January and February. The before and afters are pretty amazing.

We took a needed break and had some fabulous family time with a two week trip to Mexico over Spring Break in March.

And then I followed that up by taking part in my first One Room Challenge and tackling a complete makeover of my Craft Room (# 5 below).

At the same time, we were searching for our second investment property and took possession of that in early June. The end of the school year meant that we didn’t get a good start on those renovations until the summer, and so far I have only had a chance to share the BEFOREs as well as our DIY Laminate Flooring Installation.  I will be sharing the rest of my projects this January!

This fall we took another break from any major DIY projects, though I did manage to squeeze in my second round of the One Room Challenge and did a makeover on our Main Bathroom.

There were obviously a lot of other project, craft, DIY, and inspiration posts that I shared this year but those were some of the key highlights.

So what were my most popular posts of 2015 (based on page views)?

Here is to hoping that 2016 is just as fun and productive – but perhaps a little less three-major-renovations-ish. Perhaps.

This is awesome! Pin it to remember it!

  3. Krista,
I love your remake of the boys’ room, but most of all I enjoyed your colorful fall decorating. Love the turquoise with all the orange and mercury glass elements for fall.

    Happy New Year!

  4. Wow, Krista. You deserve the award for most renovations EVER. You did an amazing job on each and every one too. Can’t see what you do in 2016 although I’m thinking you deserve a nap 😉
