Updating the Main Bathroom Shower with Moen Magnetix

I love my new bathroom updates! The best purchase so far has been my Moen Magnetix shower head!

You know when you do a home project but you don’t quite finish it?!

When you finish a space for all functional intents-and-purposes, but there is one or two more little jobs niggling at you that you know you still need to complete?

Right???

Well, I’ve got to admit. Sometimes I can be a 95% DIYer. In other words, a space or projects gets completed 95% of the way.

And that’s why I like blogging – because it generally forces me to finish a space to 100%.

But when we first refreshed our main bathroom I wasn’t blogging about it. So there are definitely a few little bits and pieces that could have used some improvement.

And installing a decent shower head that looked good as well was one of those jobs.

Square Installing Our New Moen Magnetix Shower Head-5

Here is what we had….

The new shower head in the bathroom after being installed.

We’ve been working with this super old-school-ugly-builder-basic fixed shower head since we moved into this house over four years ago.

And the biggest issue with this shower head was that it meant cleaning the boys tub was a nightmare. In fact, even cleaning the boys in the tub was a bit of challenge with a fixed shower head.

Needless to say, I was pretty thrilled when Moen offered me the opportunity to try out their new Magnetix Shower head.

Like really excited.

Because as anyone who parents two busy-filthy-on-a-daily-basis boys knows, being able to actually clean your boys and their tub is a pretty important factor.

But this new Moen Magnetix shower head is so easy to use that I think even the boys could clean their tub. And themselves. Seriously!

Here is how we completed this install:

The directions that come with it are super easy to follow – even plumbing-disaster-DIYers like us could handle it…

Taking the shower head out of its packaging.

Start by removing the end of your old shower head and attaching the new head piece. Thankfully the directions that Moen includes are super clear about what to do when and where and with what pieces to the shower head.

Next you attach the hose and shower head…

And finally you are ready to click that new fabulous shower head right onto the base…

Done!

It comes on and off so easily…and it looks amazing!

Check out this little video I made for you all to show you how simply this clicks into place:

Isn’t that awesome?!!

You could even re-attach that baby with soap in your eyes!

We have made a few other bits of progress on this bathroom as well.

Okay, maybe not progress – but plans. If you missed my first post all about our plans to refresh this bathroom you can catch up here:

I’m pretty excited about what’s coming next!
