10 Fab Remodel & Renovation Projects
I love a good DIY so here is ten fab remodel & renovation projects from my own home as well as from some of my friend’s homes.
Renovations and remodel projects are definitely on the brain around here these days. So far in our new house we have painted and updated the trim as well as added new paneling and lighting. We then added some flooring to our foyer, living room, TV area, and dining area. We’ve also taken down a wall and opened up the kitchen and a huge kitchen makeover project is well underway (I’ll be sharing soon!!). Down the hall, we’ve completely gutted and renovated two bathrooms (our ensuite reveal can be seen here) and I’ll be sharing our main bath reveal shortly (see it before)! The master bedroom has been renovated and is finished (see it here), and our oldest son’s room has also been given a fresh new look (details coming soon!). This leaves our youngest son’s bedroom next on the list; along with completing the kitchen, refreshing the deck and backyard (adding a new fence), and then tackling the front yard (I shared the BEFORE here).
Whew.
No wonder I’ve been feeling so busy and exhausted and having a hard time keeping up! We aren’t doing it all alone, but renovating and remodeling this house has still been a tremendous undertaking. I’d forgotten what it is like to live in a construction zone and how difficult I find it to live in that state of disorganizing. I kinda like being organized.
House Transformation
But…the finish line for the main floor is just around the corner. Summer is on the way. Things will settle down shortly. And despite all the stress and energy that goes into it, I have to say that remodel and renovation projects can be immensely satisfying. Those before and afters?! Doesn’t get much more exciting then seeing a good transformation, amIright?!
That’s why those HGTV shows that make you feel like it all happens within a nice, neat 1/2 hour time slot are so fun to watch!
Today I’m sharing some remodel & renovation projects that I’ve shared over the years as well as joining up with some friends that are sharing their own personal favourite remodel projects. Just click on the link below each image to be taken to their posts and read more about what they did. I love the reveals! I hope you enjoy…
One of the first major renovation and remodel projects that we completed in our previous house was tackling the outdated kitchen. It made SUCH a difference to the entire function and use of our home, and was probably my favourite part of that house.
Coastal Style White & Blue Kitchen Makeover
Another favourite renovation and remodel project in our previous house was the living room! I initially tackled a living room makeover as part of the One Room Challenge, though it continued to grow and evolve over time as we lived there…

And, later, adding the fireplace to our living room made SUCH a big difference…both in comfort and coziness!
Read about how we added the fireplace in this post.
We also turned our coastal deck into an outdoor living room of sorts with new vinyl decking, railings, and redoing the exterior with cement board siding.

The one we tackled at our first investment property. It’s so fun to look back at what was like before, and this one is a true testament to the power of paint and lots of elbow grease.
