10 Must-Try DIY Summer Wreaths
Today I’m sharing 10 must-try DIY Summer Wreaths, including live and faux DIY Succulent wreath tutorials; all of which will add a beautiful and welcoming feel to your summer entry or summer porch.
Guess what?!
There has been a ton of progress on our front yard since I shared the “before” and plans with you all! As I’ve mentioned, all the difficulty concrete work is complete, and yesterday we got our lovely plants in the new garden. We are still working on the growing grass thing and need to choose a new paint colour. BUT…this coming Monday we are finally getting our new front door installed. Yay!
Which means that I get to work on finishing off the front entry porch and giving the whole space a fresh new updated look. I’ve got plants and planters and wreaths on the brain, and this weekend some friends and I are sharing our favourite DIY summer wreath ideas.
I know you’ll find a few DIY wreaths that you love, and definitely one worth making for this season, amongst these 10 Must-Try DIY Summer Wreaths…
I’m pretty sure that we are going to stain our new front door in a cedar stain to compliment the new cedar house posts that were installed. That, or possibly a black paint finish. Either way, I think that this year’s DIY Mini Clay Pot Succulent Wreath will look perfect on either a cedar or black door…
I love live or faux succulent wreaths! Years ago I made a Pottery Barn Knock Off DIY Succulent Wreath and its still a favourite. I like that it’s quite transitional from spring to fall as well.
If you’ve ever wanted to make a REAL LIVE Succulent Wreath , then my friend Leslie, from My 100 Year Old Home, shared an awesome tutorial that you’ll want to check out. It’s simply stunning…
Another of my favourite summer wreaths is the DIY Driftwood Wreath with Air Plants one that I created last summer using pieces of dried driftwood that we’ve collected on various holidays and vacations as well as from the lake beaches. I love the simple organic rustic feel of it, and it really was quite easy…
If summer flowers are more your thing, then you’ll love this sweet DIY Lemon and Peony Summer Wreath with olive branches. My friend Brendt, from She Gave it a Go, shared the tutorial for this beauty. It’s got a lovely farmhouse feel that would look equally pretty in your kitchen or above your mantel…
Or, keep things simple and just STUFF IT! Ashley, from Modern Glam, traded a traditional wreath for a beautiful hanging basket door decor filled with elegant flowers. So cute and inviting! I love the peonies and the trailing greenery, and the black and white ribbon is the perfect finishing touch…
Or, think super out of the box, and instead of a basket, try a boot! Yes, that’s right, a boot! Kristi at The Pickled Rose, shared a super fun and easy door decor idea with a DIY Rain Boot “Wreath”. I love the rain-slicker yellow colour of the boots she chose, and the pretty daisies are perfect for summer…
If softer dreamy colours are more your thing, then you’ll love this beautiful DIY paper flower wreath that Janine, from Happy Happy Nester, shared her DIY tutorial on. Using a basic grapevine form adds a classic feel, as does the black and white ribbon…
I love bright summer pinks! Back near the beginning of my blogging years, I shared a cute and fun “I’m Ready for the Beach” summer wreath using dollar store finds. I think it would be the perfect wreath for a summer home, but is cute, easy and cheap to make for any front door. Plus, it wouldn’t have to be pink. You could do a black and white version or even make one in blues. All this talk is inspiring me to try take two on this easy DIY summer wreath…
And, although I originally shared this one for spring, I think that my DIY succulent, fern, and peony wreath is super transitional and could stay on your front door right through both spring and summer if you don’t feel like changing out your wreath more than a few times a year.
Well, which one do you think you’d try? I hope you found a unique wreath idea to inspire you! If you did…
Then PIN it to remember it!
