10 Stunning Farmhouse Kitchens with Coloured Cabinets

I have put together 10 gorgeous farmhouse kitchens with coloured cabinets that will inspire you to look beyond white cabinets!

Good morning, friends!

I’m still working on putting together the design plan for my friends’ new-to-them farmhouse kitchen and so far I’ve shared some inspiring painted kitchen makeovers and four different styles of open shelving.

If you didn’t get a chance to read those posts already, then here is the before picture of the kitchen that we are working with for this makeover…

A dark wood kitchen before being renovated.

Now that the kitchen ceiling and walls have been painted, we’ve been toying with the idea of painting the kitchen cabinets in a colour. There are three ways that we are considering going with this…

  1. Paint all the cabinets in a colour
  2. Paint only the lower cabinetry and island in a colour and keep the uppers and shelving white (or wood)
  3. Paint only the island in a colour and keep the main cabinetry all white

One option would be to paint either all the cabinetry, or even just all of the lower cabinets in a colour. We’re thinking a light grey-aqua-blue tone, but there are so many beautiful colour options to consider!

This light and bright minty green kitchen  Via is super fresh!  It almost has an organic feel to it. The modern shaker style doors feel more traditional due to the extra chunky crown moulding used to finish off the cabinetry, but the whole space feels slightly modern due to the streamlined shelving and hardware.
