An Organized Shopping List | Just a Girl and Her Blog for The Happy Housie

Hi there, readers of The Happy Housie! I’m Abby from Just a Girl and Her Blog, and I am so delighted that Krista allowed me to invade her corner of the world wide web today! 🙂 If you would pop over to my blog, it wouldn’t take you long to find out that I love, love, love organizing! And I especially love it when it involves a pretty printable. In fact, any time I tackle a project, I usually start by sitting down and coming up with a printable to help me. There’s just something about having all of my information organized and in one place that helps me get things done more efficiently.

One of the very printables I ever created was a shopping list. When I was in the grocery store, I wanted a way to be able to see what I needed from each area of the store rather than trying to scan a long, random list. As my grocery shopping habits have changed, though, I have felt a need to tweak that original list. These days I typically end up hitting more than one store on shopping days since I’m looking for certain deals or like to get particular items at each store. I thought it might be nice to organize my list by store so the items would be easier to find.

To use this printable, I start by listing the stores I’m planning on visiting at the top. Then I think about what I need to buy at each store. For example, I often buy pantry items and dairy products at Aldi, meat and produce at Trader Joe’s (also flowers– they call to me every time!), and household items and some specific snacks for my son’s school at Target. I name my categories, list what I want to buy in each one, and I have a neat and tidy list to take with me on my shopping trip. Yippee!

My organized list saves me time because I’m not running all over the store trying to figure out what I need from which section. Having a plan also saves me money because I’m only buying the things I know I need for the next week or two. It’s a win-win!
