I love love love your mudroom! The colors are so pretty together. I am sharing and pinning!
Krista, do you recall your paint color names and the brand you used? My house seriously needs some of these perky color, to help offset all our purple and grey.
Thank you so much for sharing, I have been having a hard time selling my husband on a look for our main floor laundry, but you sold him 🙂
Hi Heather! Thanks so much for your kind comments about the laundry room – glad you found some ideas you like. The walls above the paneling are painted Buttermilk, the turquoise (mixed into my DIY chalk paint) is a colour called Ash Blue and all the trim and shelf/countertop is painted Cloud White – all of the colours are Benjamin Moore colors. To read more about how I made chalk paint for the back door and laundry room doors you can read here and here. Hope that helps- I would love to hear about how your projects turns out!
Ummm, Krista! This laundry room/mudroom reveal is AMAZING. I absolutely love everything about it, especially your color choices and the horizontal wood wall treatment. Just perfect. I had to check it out after you told me it led to your blogging! So glad I did. Pinning it to my laundry room board right now!
Aw, thank you Tasha. And thanks so much for the pin!!

I love it! Certainly makes doing laundry a bit merrier. We are about to build a house and I’m so excited to have a mudroom..hope mine can be as cheery as this. 🙂
Hi Tara!
So glad you came to visit- it does make doing laundry a little cheerier:) How exciting to build a house- I have always wanted to do that!!
Krista
I LOVE your laundry room revamp! I have the same washer and dryer… you’re really giving me hope for my laundry room… which needs an overhaul! I would love for you to share your revamp at Party In Polka Dots!!!

I hope to see you there!
Shelley
Thank you Shelley!! I will hop over and check it out:)
Krista
I love what you’ve done and the colors are super! Just one question. I have a top loading washer, and I can’t quite see how this works with the shelf over the machines. Do you have an “in use” picture or description?
Hi Brenda!
We have front loading machines so we are able to have a countertop/shelf right over top of them. I think that with top loaders you would have to put your shelf above the machines and it couldn’t be so deep or you wouldn’t be able to access your machines properly. You could definitely move your cabinetry up to the ceiling like we did and put a storage shelf below it, you could also have a curtain if you wanted… but you would definitely need to keep the top of your machines available for top loading:)
Krista
Thanks. I just love what you did here. My washer/dryer is in our mudroom in a nook just like this, and right now I just have Rubbermaid shelves over them. Too cluttered for my eye!
Hi Brenda! You could always check a restore for some cabinetry that might fit and paint it to suit your taste… I love having the closed storage above our washer/dryer for all the stuff I don’t want to see!
Krista
Saw this on Addicted2decorating and had to come see it in more detail. Great job – the after is just packed with charm!
Thank you Mark!! So glad you came by to see it yourself:)
Krista
Simply lovely – I love those colors!! =) Thanks for linking up at the Pinterest Power Party!
Danielle

Thank you Danielle! The yellow and blue are two of my favourites as well. I love how they look together, and it inspired me to bring more yellow into the rest of the house. Thanks again for hosting your fabulous party!
Krista
Really well done! It’s so happy and cheerful! I’m so glad I returned the visit you paid my blog — you have tons of great ideas!
I’m glad that you came too, Alexis! I hope to see you again soon:)
Krista
I wish you could have seen me as I scrolled through your photos, taking in the beauty of your makeover…and then I saw the shadow boxes, stopped and exclaimed “Oh, how cute is that”. Pinned it right away. What an adorable idea. Unless a lot of people visit you in your laundry room, the location will not do it justice. We all will have to pin it for you so the world can see it. What an awesome idea.
New follower and FB fan here. Would LOVE it if you’d visit my site and pages and especially if you would join us for Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hops. Maybe you could add this link? Please do stop by!

Krista
Krista,
I am LOVIN your laundry room makeover! The bright and bold colors are fun and fresh…and I love love love the white planked walls {sigh}. Where did you find your coat hooks? They are perfect!
xo,
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much for your kind comments:) The white planked walls are my favourite too… they balance the rest of the colour and make it feel fresh and clean. The coat hooks are from Home Depot. They come in black and a nickel/chrome finish. Thanks so much for your visit!!
Krista
Where did you get the striped rug?!? Love it and want one..or two.
Hi Katy! I bought it at Home Sense (Canadian decorating store). Only $12!! I love it too:)
Krista
Krista that is the happiest laundry room EVER! I don’t even like doing laundry but with 3 little girls there’s always plenty. With your bright and cheery set up, I might not mind throwing another load in;)
Congrats to you for this awesomeness being featured on That DIY Party. So Happy for you.
Cheers to you and yours,
Therese
Thank you Therese, your comments are so kind and thoughtful! I don’t much care for laundry myself, but at least it is a little cheerier now… Actually, its not the washing I don’t like -more the folding and putting away!
Krista
That turned out great! I’m in the process of redoing my laundry room/pantry at the farm so love looking at other people’s projects. Love the colors you used – I was thinking of yellow for my walls. Now following you!
That is wonderful Cecilia, so glad to meet you! I love the yellow… I had steered away from yellow for several years but the love affair is back on. I will check out your progress on your blog:) See you soon,
Krista

Thanks Megan! I love the beachy theme too, chose it because we are going for a modern cottage lake house style… think the laundry room fits that a little better now:) Thrilled you came by!

Krista
What a great makeover! That room almost makes me want to do laundry! Life to the full! Melissa
Ya, lol! Almost makes me want to too… Not my favourite chore, that’s for sure! Thanks so much for coming by Melissa!
Krista
Checking in with you from the UBP! Wow! LOOOOVE your Laundry/Mudroom! I’m so envious, my Laundry Room is on the second floor and I can’t combine it as a mudroom 🙁 Great job!
Thanks Christy! The ‘mud room’ is kind of a loose term because we actually leave our shoes in the garage… and there is no sink to wash up in. It is more of a laundry room doubling as a hallway into the house, with a few hooks thrown up on the wall;)
Thrilled you came by to visit, hope to see you again!!
Krista
What a transformation! I am just loving the blue and yellow! What a difference painting a door makes huh? Its that perfect POP! I would love to have you share this at my party!

Thanks Emily! I am always thrilled to learn about new linky parties. Thanks so much for the invite and the kind comments!!
Krista
Super cute mudroom/laundry! I am jealous of your space – I have a laundry closet and no mudroom. I might create a mudroom like area in the garage – I love the hooks you put in!
Hi Heather, you can do some amazing things with a laundry closet. My friend Danielle recently redid hers for FREE! Check it out at 2 Little Superheroes: My Completely Free Laundry Room
I love the hooks, but our shoes still all live outside in the garage. Helps cut down on the dirt in the house too. I think that a mudroom area in the garage is a fabulous idea!!
So thrilled that you came by today!
Krista @thehappyhousie
LOVE this! You did an amazing job! Would you like to come and do ours?! 😉
Thanks Liana… Should I camp out for a few weeks?? Could be fun:) would love to see you though!!

KC

Krista
Beautiful. I thought just getting my dream washer and dryer would make my laundry room happier. But now I want YOUR laundry room. It’s amazing how it went from simply functional, to a space to spend quality time in! I love that fabric too. It would be perfect for my family room 🙂
Thanks Andrea!! I LOVE that fabric too and have been ogling it online for months… finally found a perfect spot for it. In fact it kinda ran the whole inspiration board… Now I have leftovers to use in the living room too, yay!
What a beautiful space, I love all the bright colors and the special touches.
