Beachy Boho Outdoor Dining Room {Deck Reveal Part Two!}

I really loved creating my beachy boho outdoor dining room, come take a look!

Summer! It’s finally here!

Today’s the last day of school for the year and the official start of summer entertaining. I’m super excited about hosting my staff for our end-of-year barbecue tonight and I can’t wait to put our deck into action for it’s first full event of the season. Canada Day celebrations follow quickly behind on Saturday, and then after that we’re expecting a lot of visitors and traffic for the next couple of months.

One thing I love about living at the lake house is having the chance to create that vacation-at-home feel in our space. But the truth is, you can create that kind of holiday feel in your own backyard no matter where you live. We took our deck from old, damaged, and dull to pretty spectacular this year with some gorgeous and affordable new finds from HomeSense.

Remember the before look on the back deck??

And now the after look!!

Outdoor woven baskets beside the table.

Beachy Boho. That’s the feel of our deck this year…

We’ve had our hardwood dining set for a few seasons now and I think the style of it works really well with the beachy boho feel. That tablecloth works for both indoors and outdoors; I absolutely LOVE the tassel fringe and subtle blue and green boho pattern. And a score at less then $20! In fact, I bought two of them because I thought I could use a second one for a serving table when we have larger groups over {like tonight!}.

There is a pitcher of water with lemon in it on the table.

These huge baskets will also be perfect for parties and large gatherings. During parties, I’m going to put some clear recycling bags inside of each and use one for empty cans and one for trash!

I love how the soft blue and green colour scheme flows so easily through all the areas of our back deck. The tablecloth ties in beautifully with the outdoor wine glasses and outdoor dishes.

I’ve been looking for beautiful and affordable outdoor dishes for a few seasons now; ones that feel like real dishes but are strong and non-breakable. I finally found these beautiful aqua dinner and salad plates at HomeSense. The large ones were a great buy at $4.99 each and the salad plates came in a set of 4 for $12.99. They’ll be perfect for dinners on the deck, or feeding the kids lunch out on the dock.

And it’s crazy how perfectly the pattern in the plates echoes the pattern on the tablecloth…

Speaking of the dock, it’s definitely not a place you want to use real glasses. With kid’s running around, things are bound to get knocked over. So these outdoor wine glasses are the perfect solution for both outdoor dining and days on the dock. Plus, they stack easily so they are easy to transport and store. At only $9.99 for four, I picked up three sets. You know, to share with friends…

A wooden bowl filled with salad is on the table.

Tonight for the staff barbecue I’ll be using this handy little cutlery tote for all the cutlery and napkins; I love that it keeps the napkins secured since the wind often picks up a little in the evening. Last thing we want to be doing is chasing napkins all around the yard… am I right?

There is galvanized containers on the table that have cutlery in them.

With the sun out so late, we won’t need the lanterns until later in the evening; but I have them set and ready to go. This huge globe lantern was a great find at only $14.99, and the little white one was $12.99. I think that mixing different styles keeps things fresh and interesting, and the rope handles make them super easy to move around the deck throughout the evening. I love to use LED faux candles to makes things even easier!

There are vases and pillows on the patio.

And keeping a basket of throw blankets and pillows nearby means that everyone can stay warm and cozy well into the evenings. I found gorgeous sets of 2 outdoor pillows for only $29.99, and these throws were $19.99 each. Since I use blues to decorate all year long, I can easily rotate the throws into our indoor throw selection for other seasons, as well.

A couple of weeks ago I shared our outdoor seating area on the deck, all decked out for summer. We’ve had the outdoor sectional sofa for a few seasons, and I was ready to recover the cushions this year because I wasn’t digging the brown. But once I found these lovely outdoor pillows with fringe that matched the original sectional cushions, as well as the natural and blue patterned rug, the whole space ties together so much better! I couldn’t get over what a bargain the rug was, at only $79.99. It’s not a flimsy, cheap outdoor rug like many are but it’s still really weather resistant because of the hardy material it’s made from. Seriously a favourite find this year. Plus, I think it all ties in well with the colour of our new cedar soffits, right?

I have to share my absolute number one favourite find from HomeSense this summer! Check out this vintage style cooler!!

There is a blue stand that contains ice.

Seriously the cutest thing, ever, right? When I was leaving the store with it, people were commenting about what a cute find it is! I can’t wait to get it filled up with ice and cold beverages later; it’s going to be super fun to see it put to use this summer. It’s even got a built in bottle opener!

I setup a little drink station in the corner of the deck; the perfect spot for ice, glasses, and even a big jug of lemonade or ice tea. I actually picked up the beverage server last season, and the ice bucket was a find this year. Only $12.99, and it matches perfectly with the cooler. You might be able to tell that I have a bit of a thing for minty blues…

Well, friends! Hours to go and this deck with be in full use! Woot woot!
