I really don’t understand where May went?!?
But, it came. And it went. And now it is June!
Around these parts we have another month of school until we are officially on Summer VA-CA. But it already feels like summer.
We put the boat in the water this past weekend and had our inaugural boat ride. And the weather has been so warm that we have been spending tons of time outside already. We’ve even had several dinners out on the deck.
When the summer hits, you want your patio or deck to be a fun space to spend time on, but don’t want it to be overly fussy, am I right?
And these Berry Basket Succulent Planters fit perfectly with that ethos: quick, easy, cute, & casual. A perfect little accent for your deck.
Aren’t berry baskets such a perfect symbol of summer?
I love them – and was thrilled to find these adorable aqua plastic berry baskets at my local Real Canadian Superstore this year. You can find similar ones at World Market– though theirs are silicon, and you might need to punch a few holes in the bottom for drainage.
I picked up these beautiful succulents (hens and chicks) at Home Depot Canada a couple of weeks ago- and filled each berry basket with four little succulent sections.
I added some gravel to the bottom of the baskets…
I added a little bit of garden soil on top of the gravel, and then filled each basket with four little sections of hens & chicks.
Easy Peasy & Done!
Lot’s of time left for a little deck-relax time. Grab a magazine and chill…
Aren’t they lovely?
I’m pretty thrilled to have them as the center piece of the cofffee table on our deck this season. And I can’t wait to be back soon to show you a little more of this year’s deck!
