Our Christmas Entry Hall {with free printable Joy to the World Banner}
I am sharing our entry hall by the front door that I have decorated for Christmas!
We’ve had 490 mm of rain over the past month. That’s a foot and a half. One positive about all this gross, cold, rainy weather is that is makes being inside feel like a very cozy welcome treat.
Coming home and taking cover inside of your warm, inviting home creates a feeling of peace and respite from the world outside. I love that our home is feeling extra cozy and welcoming now that it is fully decorated for Christmas!
And today I can’t wait to show you the changes we’ve made to the entry hall this past fall. Come on in…
And guess what!
I’ve even tweaked it since I took my Christmas porch photos. That’s the thing about holiday decor around here; it’s quite fluid and ever changing.
As much as I loved our new vintage typewriter on the console table, I wanted a little more space for guests to put down their things when they first arrive. And speaking of changes….
Chchchchanges… in our entry hall!
I haven’t shared an update with you for a while but this little spot has had some big changes in the furniture and decor department! More gorgeous vintage finds and a great mix of old and new.
It all started when I found the vintage theatre seat at a nearby vintage shop. I have wanted one for the entry hall for a long time, but once I got it home and into position I realized that it didn’t work well with our tiny half-moon console table. So the hunt began for a new console. You might remember me sharing all the different possibilities on a few of my Friday’s Find’s posts?
Well, ding ding ding! This sweet little french grey console entry table from Wayfair is the winner!!
It’s perfect because of it’s size; it is the right length and has a nice narrow depth that is perfect for our small entry hall. I also love the drawers and the lower shelf for storage or display purposes. The french grey colour works really well with all the blues and greens in our house, but it is also available in cream, black, or a wood finish.
Plus, it was a great price! Given the value, I am super thrilled with how sturdy and well-made it feels. It’s a very transitional piece; it looks beautiful with a vintage crate full of branches at Christmas but I know it will be equally at home when I decorate it with beachy finds for the summer season.
What do you think?
I have really gotten the bug for making printables this season!
I love our BELIEVE banner and have found a perfect home for it in the dining room… so I decided to create a new Christmas banner for our entry. I wanted a “Joy to the World” banner because I think it’s a fun spin on our map wall. And I can’t tell you how realistic this burlap pattern it! I shared this as a free download later in the post!
It looks great on the wall, but would also be a cute addition to a Christmas tree!
Vintage finds!
I’ve had so many amazing ones lately. And these vintage snow shoes just might be my favourite! I mean, come on. How beautiful are they?
I found these through a central island Facebook page for vintage and antiques; and when I went to pick them up I ended up with the vintage crate you see on the console as well as some beautiful, very old, solid wood cross country skis straight from Quebec, as well!
If those don’t scream Christmas, I’m not sure what does.
Oh, I guess my faux vintage U-Cut Christmas trees sign does. I made that using foam. Yup. You read that correctly. Check out the tutorial here!
So that’s the end of our entry hall tour! Small space… but it leads to greater things. I can’t wait to show you more of our Christmas decor next week. And…

Are you wondering about that awesome pillow?
I love it too, and I always get a ton of questions about it and my other Christmas pillows by Lucy of Craftberry Bush – this one is deer buck with winter scarf and it’s available through Society 6!
