Classic Red & White Christmas Mantel Decor
My classic red and white mantel is bringing the Christmas spirit! Come see all the details.
There is just something about red and white at Christmas time. The colour combo always seems so crisp and fresh and classic. Mix in liberal amounts of greenery and pops of black, and you have yourself a beautiful, cozy, classic, traditional, and welcoming Christmas scheme. I thought about sticking with the less traditional blues and greens that we decorate with most of the year; but I couldn’t help but gravitate back towards red and white.
Christmas Mantel Decor
I’m really excited about wrapping up some last details and sharing the rest of our Christmas spaces with you over the next week; but for today I’ll start with what has become the feature of our living room. I couldn’t be more thankful that we took the plunge and had the fireplace and mantel built land installed last November. It’s definitely made our year much cozier; and we are excited to celebrate another Christmas around “the hearth” this year!
Today I’ve joined up with 17 other talented blogging friends who are sharing their Christmas mantel decor and/or a Christmas vignette in their homes. I can’t wait to take in all the inspiration!
If you are new here, then welcome! I’m Krista and I’ve been blogging for about five years now. I share all kinds of decorating, organizing, DIY, and craft projects as well as the odd recipe and lifestyle related post. Decorating for the holidays is one of my absolute favourite things to do… and to be honest, it never seems “done”. I’m always tweaking and moving things around! So come on back over the next few weeks to check out the rest of our home decorated for Christmas.
Today it’s all about the mantel…
I kept it quite simple with some classic red, white, and black plaid stockings along with a dry boxwood garland. The little Christmas wood block sign is a dollar store find that I stained and painted; and the 18″ mini Christmas trees in burlap are from Michael’s.
All in all, I think that a few key pieces are all that we needed to add a pop of Christmas to our fireplace… what do you think?

The driftwood star stays up there all year round! I think it can transition every season; and suits the lake front location of our home. Lake front that is getting closer and closer with each passing day of pouring rain! All the wet, cold, miserable weather we have in November and (often) December makes the coziness of the fireplace even that much more welcome.
See something you love?
I’ve gathered together my sources and some similar items for you…
Want to remember this?
A little more inspiration…
As I mentioned, today I’ve joined forces with 17 other talented bloggers to share a little view into our Christmas decor for the season through our Christmas mantel or vignette. You are going to love all of this stunning inspiration!!
