Creative Wood Letters – Now on Shelves!

Nearly ten years ago I remember being seated with a group of people that we didn’t know very well at a charity dinner that we were attending. As we began talking and getting to know our fellow table mates, one woman revealed that she was an author. I was immediately impressed. I blurted out, in one of my frequent less-elegant life moments, “Oh WOW! I’d love to be an author, too”. And she simply asked “What would you write?”.

“Ummm…I’m not sure?”. Such an eloquent response.

But I was stumped! I had a vision and a dream about being an author, but no real idea about what I would actually write about! And no idea what it actually really meant…

Enter my blog a few years later and I became an “author” of a sort, though in my heart of hearts I still thought of a true author as someone with a real, live, published, so-solid-you-can-hold-it-in-your-hands kind of book.

And guess what? Here I am! I’m an author!

My book. (I have to pinch myself every time I say that…). My book, is out!

On the shelves. Ready to buy! In actual stores. On Amazon!! Or even on Chapters Indigo!

Now if you’ve been following along for a while, then this likely isn’t the first time you have heard me talk about my book. I started working on it last spring, and I’ve shared a few of the projects along the way. The other day I shared the DIY driftwood letter that I created for Finn – it fits in perfectly with his newly designed beach style bedroom. I also shared my DIY moss letter this spring and a variation on it that I created for our DIY monogram wreath.

Creative Wood Letters is full of SO MANY different letter projects and ideas! 35, in fact, and even within those are suggestions for further variations that you could create.

From moss to driftwood…

Crackle finish to gold leaf…

Photograph to fabric covered…

Beach glass to DIY map letters…

Organized according to various style themes, Creative Wood Letters features several unique projects within each theme. My book is easy to follow and clearly organized with clear and detailed tutorials for every single wood letter that I crafted. You can create these beautiful wood letters whether you think of yourself as a natural crafter, or not!

Why Wood Letters?

There is something special about letters. Monograms. Acronyms. Names. Words.

We attach so much more meaning to letters then we do to almost any other object. Which makes them a beautiful addition to our home decor. The projects shared in Creative Wood Letters work beautifully as part of a gallery wall display or on a bookshelf. If you’ve followed for a while, then you have probably noticed the variety of letters I feature on my seasonal bookshelves in our living room.

You can also use decorative wood letters as part of another craft or decor project; you could attach them to a wreath, or use them on a sign. Decorative wood letters also make beautiful stand-alone statements in a child’s room, family room, or as a grouping in a foyer or hallway. And, they’re the perfect original and heartfelt handmade gift for nearly everyone from a new baby to a Grandparent.

You could create a grouping of one style to display somewhere in your home…

Or a mix several styles together in a display…

Whichever way you go, the possibilities are nearly endless! I think that once you get started, you’ll love creative wood letter projects as much as I do!  Order your own copy today!
