DIY Clay Pot Succulent Wreath Tutorial
Today I’m sharing an adorable DIY mini clay pot succulent wreath that is perfect for dressing up your front door this summer.
Summer!
It is most definitely on the way.
This past weekend was Victoria Day weekend in Canada; known informally as the start of summer (despite the fact that we have nearly another six weeks left in the school year). Suddenly everyone’s focus switches from the indoors out; it’s all about camping and barbecuing, gardening and patio season. If our front yard weren’t currently under construction, I’d have spent the weekend wedding and topsoiling the gardens and planting my summer flower pots.
But since it’s dug apart, I contented myself with whipping up a new DIY summer wreath.
I’m also really excited that today’s post is kicking of the Seasonal Simplicity Summer Series! For the next several Wednesdays I’ll be joined by some of my talented blogging friends to share all kinds of summer DIYs and inspiration with you. Don’t forget to check out what everyone is sharing today at the bottom of this post.
I’m all about the cute clay pots this summer, and I absolutely adore the tiny clay pots (sourced at our local Dollarama) as well as the faux succulents fit perfectly inside them. I picked up sheets of faux succulents at Michaels (last spring), and have used them in quite a few craft projects. The only other thing that you need to make this summer wreath is some hot glue and a grapevine wreath form.
I started by gluing the bright green succulents onto the top of the little clay pots.
Once I’d glued them all together, I placed and glued them on the wreath form, alternating the angles (facing one way, facing directly up, and facing down), for variety and interest.
Once all the clay pots were placed and glued onto the wreath form, I tucked and glued a few extra succulents in around the edges to finish it off.
Done!
I really, really love how the summer wreath turned out, and can’t wait to see it hanging on our (new, soon to come) front door!
