DIY Fall Wreath with Dried Florals
A simple tutorial for a lovely harvest themed DIY fall wreath featuring dried florals, dried wheat, dried corn, acorns and pine cones.
I’m pretty excited about getting to decorate our new porch for Fall this year. In fact, I’m pretty excited about getting to decorate our new house for the seasons in general.
I think it’s mainly because I finally have some time!
We’ve had such a busy last three years between moving, renovating, moving again, building, moving again with me working full time during that whole period. This year we are finally settled into our new build and I’m teaching just 4 days a week which gives me a FULL day each week where the kids are in school and I have TIME.
Yay for time!
When you are stretched thin and have no time, it is very difficult to feel inspired and creative…

You can’t hurry creativity, so take time to ponder your ideas. Sit back and take time to think things over. That’s usually how the best ideas bloom. – Harvey MacKay
So I’m really excited about sharing fall decor projects with you, as well as some fun seasonal and holiday crafts and printables this Fall. Today’s project is a DIY fall harvest wreath with dried florals and fall objects that I gathered out of my fall bin.
I’m also joining some friends who are sharing their fall DIY wreaths today. Be sure to check out what they are sharing at the bottom of today’s post.
I’ve created a quick video sharing the process of how I made this wreath, or read the step by step instructions below…
To make this harvest themed DIY fall wreath I used:
- a grapevine wreath form
- a bundle of dried wheat and florals (I got mine at Homesense but also check craft stores)
- small dried corn (I only used the two smaller ones pictured)
- dried pine cones and acorns
- rustic jute rope for hanging it
- my hot glue gun and glue, as well as scissors to cut the florals to size
I started by trimming and layering the wheat directly into the grapevine form – I did not need to glue it in and just tucked the pieces between the spaces in the wreath form.
I kept tucking them in and layering them on top of each other to create a full feeling on either side…
Once most of the dried wheat was in place, I started to place the other dried fall harvest objects and glued them into place once I’d figured out how the arrangement looked best…
Lastly, I cut and added in the dried floral pieces around the edges of the harvest cluster…
Done!
