Friday’s Faves

Can you believe that next week is March?! How did that happen?

Time is definitely flying, and by this time of year I’m usually in the process of switching over to our spring decor but I have to admit I’m a little behind this year.

In addition to spending over a week battling a rotten cold, I’ve also had a big project in the works for the past couple of months that has finally come to fruition! Yay!

This week, after months of working on pulling my ten week organizing challenge together into one comprehensive yet concise document, I pressed publish!

I had so many people email me asking me if I had an ebook or written version of my organizing challenge, that I decided to put their requests into action. I’m currently offering it at a special introductory launch price for my email subscribers but I’ll be raising the price soon. Head over here to read more about what this ebook includes…

The last couple of weeks we’ve had some beautiful, sunny days and I was really starting to get in the mood for spring. I even picked up some sweet little spring flowers to use in my front porch planters. But before I could get around to planting them, it started snowing! And as I write this, there is a view of lovely, white snow falling rather heavily all around us.

I guess I’ll be crafting up my spring wreath this weekend with the view of snow in the background. I girl can dream, right? I’ve never done a wreath with peonies and am pretty smitten with this gorgeous spring wreath via Daisymaebelle on Instagram

I really wanted to get rid of all the Christmas greenery this weekend and freshen up our front porch planters in time for spring… I guess that will be weather dependent now! I found this sweet little early spring planter Via as inspiration. I think I might switch the branches out for pussy willows, and add in some early blooming primulas, too. Isn’t the moss covering the soil a lovely, spring touch?

So with the ongoing winter, my mudroom is really starting to get to me. Despite our constant effort to keep it organized (and it is, as best it can be), it’s just so small! I know, first world problems. But it’s always about this time of year that I start daydreaming about palatial organized mudrooms with built in cabinetry forever. This mudrooms is definitely #goals Via.  Just gazing at it makes me giddy… though I know my boys could have it looking disastrous in 2.3 milliseconds.

The other thing I’m looking forward to this spring is the continuation of our siding project outside. The house is more than half finished (I’ll share some pictures soon!), and the newly sided porch area has me dreaming of a new door… like this gorgeous dutch door I spotted this week Via.  Yes, please!!

As much as I love our sweet little home, I wouldn’t say no to building a home if the opportunity arose… I’ve always dreamed of a stunning center stair style like this gorgeous home Via.  What’s your favourite part? The view right through to the back patio? Me too! The gorgeous paneling and runner are pretty amazing, too…

This week I really, truly enjoyed the fantastic before and after tour that Jamie shared of her renovation project over at via So Much Better With Age.  I love a good before and after, and seeing how she turned quite a boring, small standard room into the stunning open-concept living space that she has now is so inspiring! Definitely worth heading over to take the tour!

Have you noticed the HUGE design trend toward highly patterned floors? I love it, but it’s definitely a big commitment. This week I spotted a thrifty DIY way to get this look for less using floor stickers  via The Honeycomb Home!  Can you believe these are stickers?? I wonder how they are holding up? And I’m kind of tempted to give them a try!

If the winter weather is keeping you indoors, I found this gorgeous DIY project you might want to try. I know I’m tempted! Which colour would you do? Guess which one I’d do?

And this week I shared my DIY moss letters, and I was joined by some of my most talented blogging friends who also shared their own spring DIYs… head over here to find all kinds of ideas for spring projects that you can make yourself!

I have a feeling soccer is going to be cancelled this weekend, which means we might even get to some other big projects around here.

Last weekend we completely purged and organized the majority of the basement, and I sold a TON of stuff on my local Facebook garage sale sites. Do you ever sell things online? Not only does it feel good to get rid of things that you don’t really need and that are just cluttering up your house, but it’s so nice to make a little bit of money from your things. You should give it a try!

Did you see something inspiring that you want to remember?

Happy Friday, and have a great weekend, friends!

  1. Love your ideas. We live in an apartment but so.e of the ideas are very doable on a smaller scale for refreshing looks for spring.
