Good morning, friends! How was your week? Ours has been a little crazier than expected.

Tuesday night while coaching my son’s rep soccer practice my husband managed to tear his achilles tendon. He still maintains that he won the race against the 11 year old he was racing. I wasn’t there as witness, but I it seems I’ll be witness to the rest of the soccer practices this season as he is now in a cast from his knee to his toes and can’t work or drive! Eek! This, coupled with the fact that we live 12-15 outside of town, means that I have a LOT of driving ahead of me over the next few months. Apparently an achilles tendon tear is quite a serious injury and we’ve had several friends tell us to take it slow with recovery; I’m just thankful that he didn’t end up having to have surgery. The orthopaedic surgeon he saw at the ER said that this method with the cast is a new technique; fingers crossed that it works.

So I guess I’ll be adding quite a few jobs to my full plate as he recovers… including the outdoor maintenance!

Speaking of our outdoors, we’ve been making some amazing progress on the jobs outside. Our carpenter is working his way around the house with the new siding, and last weekend (pre-injury) we managed to get the Stone Effects down on the lower patio. Our carpenter friend helped teach us how to trowel- he is definitely an expert. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and can’t wait to show you the process and the full reveal, soon!

Even though we’ve been enjoying some of those beautiful crisp, clear, sunny fall days it has been much cooler in the mornings. I’m thinking it’s time to put away our summer quilts and bring out the duvet again! I spotted this beautiful duvet cover set on sale this week and think it would be perfect in our bedroom this fall…

I’m working on styling and photographing our fall home tour for y’all today and I have to say I’ve been super inspired this week by so many of the gorgeous fall home tours I’ve seen! This one at Shades of Blue Interiors,  was a highlight and definitely worth some ogling….

I’m also totally blown away by this stunning  Wallpapered laundry room over at The Lilypad Cottage. In fact, every time I tour Kelly’s new lake front home I get drool all over the computer screen.

Speaking of drooling, here ya go. I mean, how much more beautiful can and exterior be? Do you agree?

If you love the outside, check out the indoor tour over at House of Turquoise. I can’t decide if the kitchen or the wallpaper is my favourite part…

I’m hoping to pull together one more outdoor post for you this week and share our new outdoor fire pit area. I just have to get all the construction materials cleaned up around it first!

There’s something so cozy and welcoming about sharing outdoor spaces in the fall; I am totally gaga over this gorgeous outdoor fall tablescape by Jen at City Farmhouse. Driftwood, herbs, and succulents, oh my…

I love the warmth that greenery brings to our home in the fall, and this small faux olive tree  would be a perfect way to add some earthy warmth to your space. It comes in a two pack and is on a great sale right now!

Speaking of greenery adding warmth in the fall, how lovely is this sweet and simple fall entry way by April at House by Hoff? April is another of my favourite bloggers; her styling and photography are stunning, I love her use of colour; and she is such a sweet person, too! I can say that because we’ve met in “real” life!

As I work on finishing off the fall decor touches in our home I’m debating on whether to pull out some of my cozier touches from last fall/winter now that the weather is turning cooler in the mornings and evenings. We have a big, cozy black and white buffalo check throw and I’d love to have it available during fall evenings, but it might be a little heavy yet. I spotted these slightly less heavy buffalo check throws on sale at Pottery Barn (15% off this weekend) and think they’d be the perfect weight for this season!

I also might put my sewing machine into action and finally sew up a few buffalo check pillows for our living room. I’d love something like this for our sofa…

Or how fun could it be to add in an accent piece like this stunning buffalo check chair! Also on a great sale this weekend…

As I mentioned, I’m hoping to finish up some fall crafts this weekend or maybe next. The beautiful simplicity of this fall embroidery hoop wreath  really caught my eye this week! It was DIYed by Lindi over at Love Create Celebrate. I just need to find an embroidery hoop…

Or how sweet is this DIY modern fall hoop wreath by Alexis over at Persia Lou…

Did you see something inspiring?

Want to remember this?

Have a great weekend, friends!!
