Friday’s Faves

Hello friends! Happy Friday to you all!

We’ve got a big project on the go today that has been in the plans for a looooooooong time! Did you ever see the “before” of our outdoor space? I shared a tour last spring of all the scary areas of our yard and exterior that we were hoping to tackle this year.

Well, one of the areas we’ve planned to makeover is the long patio that runs across the whole front of our house underneath our deck. Here is how it looked a few months ago while “under construction”…

If you saw our deck reveal, you know that we made some progress on that; new surfacing, new railing, stairs down from the deck, and new siding and soffits on this side of the house. We also had a crane come and move the hot tub up to a side patio, and worked on the gardens, the “fire pit” area, and the lawn.

So this weekend we are finally getting around to tackling the surface of our lower patio and we are using a product called Stoneffects by Rust-o-leum. I can’t wait to see how it turns out; I’m hoping to share the tutorial and “afters” with you next week!

In addition to that big project; I’ve been working on finishing up some last minute editing, projects, and photographs for my upcoming DIY Craft book. I shared a little bit about the book last week; and as excited as I am to writing a book that is actually going to get published (!!), I have to say that I’m looking forward to getting it all finished up in (hopefully) the next couple of weeks:)  It makes life just that little bit busier, and now that we’re getting back into our fall routine I’m seeking a little more balance in my life.

Speaking of balance, do you find that keeping up with the demands of your busy daily life doesn’t allow for much time spent on yourself? On taking care of your own health, fitness, and nutrition?

This has been a major issue for me over the past few years and I’ve put on a good amount of weight because of it. I find it super difficult to balance our busy family life and I’ve definitely put my own health and fitness on the absolute back burner. So I’ve joined a positive accountability group and we’re starting a 12 week challenge this week that focuses on being more active and following improving our nutrition. I anticipate I’ll be sharing a more about this with you over the next few months as I’m pretty excited about making some big changes on my priority list (i.e. less Netflix, more walks)!

One of the first recipes I want to try is this easy and delicious looking Chili Lime Buddha Bowl by Tara over at Suburble…

I found a few amazingly inspiring ideas online this week that I want to share with you!

I always swoon over Sarah’s style at Life on Virginia Street, and this part of her fall home tour doesn’t disappoint! I LOVE her office; and you have to check out the guest bedroom all ready for fall!

My oldest son and I just starting reading the Chronicles of Narnia series this past week, so when I opened up Facebook and saw this incredibly stunning Narnia themed armoire-turned-reading-wardrobe my jaw literally dropped.

I mean, how far did Lauren knock it out of the park on this one? Read all the details over at Bless’er House…

And you may have seen that I shared a couple of sweet little watercolour succulent pumpkin printables this week?

Well, my friend Rachel at Maison de Pax also shared a free printable; I think you’ll love this gorgeous Grateful Feathers FREE watercolour printable – I especially love the way that pretty way that she hung it!

Another free printable that really caught my eye was these sweet little custom autumn tea tag printables by Norma over at Paint Me Pink (you’ll love her beachy style!).

What a beautiful way to make a gift of tea that much more personalized and special…

As usual, I checked out all my sale emails and I have to say that I’m in total awe of the amazing Dining Room sale going on over at Joss & Main right now… I found some chairs just like our dining table chairs for a steal-of-a-deal at only $105 each!

And they also have some gorgeous end chairs; like these ones that closely resemble our  dining room end chairs on sale for only $227 for the PAIR!

Do you remember how this summer I was helping my friends plan their farmhouse kitchen makeover? I shared all kinds of farmhouse kitchen inspiration like this, this, this, and this?

Well, I spotted the exact pendants lights that we ordered for over their island and sink on sale for a steal of a deal at just over $100. These gorgeous pendants are truly beautiful lights in real life if you are looking for a kitchen pendant!

Did you see something you love?

Have you seen anything great online this week?

Beautiful makeovers? Fab decor ideas? Tips for getting organized? Or amazing sales?

I’d love to hear about them!
