Happy Fall Y’all: Fall Decor Around These Parts

As soon as Labour Day hits it somehow immediately feels like fall.

I guess that’s because Labour Day goes hand-in-hand with back to school around here. And back to school seems to go hand-in-hand with fall.

Tonight we’ll be heading to the annual Fall Fair held in our community and my boys. Are. Pumped.

There will be enormous bulls. Poultry of all kinds. Goats. Logger sports. Pumpkins. Crafts. Corn on the Cob. Cotton Candy. And all kinds of rides that spin you round-and-round until you become violently ill.

Well, at least that’s what they do to me.

And while the annual Fall Fair may be the most exciting thing about the onset of fall for my children, it is not for me.

But decorating/crafts/fall DIY projects? Those definitely rate! I think I get into nesting mode in the fall… waiting for the cool, rainy weather to arrive. It stirs up this innate desire in me to turn our home into a cozy, comfortable sanctuary from the 8 zillion inches of rain that we will soon experience.

Projects like these, that I shared the last couple of autumn seasons. With so many new followers since last Fall, I figured you newbies might like a little slice of my previous fall decor.

I hope you enjoy these ideas and tours and are inspired to create a little colourful, cozy haven in your own space for fall.

I love me a great mantelscape.

(Is that even a word? My spell check doesn’t seem to think so. But I feel like it is, so I am going to use it.)

I’ve created quite a few fall mantel designs over the past couple of years. And they all seem to have a natural/rustic element to them.

There’s just something about fall that feels a little bit rustic, am I right?

My latest is this Coral & Turquoise Fall Mantel – you may have seen it the other day.

Of course, your sofa wouldn’t feel ready for fall without a ridiculous number of fall pillows, am I right?

Here are some DIY pillows I’ve created for this beloved season…Fall Pillows:

Oh, and the fruit of the fall: Pumpkins.

Okay, so maybe they are actually a vegetable.

Either way- they are definitely a huge symbol of fall. And I’ve enjoyed customizing some little $$ versions of them over the past couple of seasons…

Another favourite rustic touch that I like to bring out for fall is my DIY Twig letter.

Somehow it seems to suit this season absolutely perfectly.

Oh, and when autumn hits, you can’t forget the outdoors.

I love to add some fall touches to our little front porch, and whip up a new wreath.

Well, who doesn’t love a seasonal home tour? Okay – maybe not everyone does. But I sure do.

Check out my Fall Tours from the past couple of seasons.

It may surprise you how much and how little has changed…

And I can’t wait to show you my biggest change yet!

In my Fall Home Tour 2015 you’re going to see a major change in our space – unless, of course, you follow me on Instagram and already got a sneak peak at what I’m talkin’ about.
