Harry Potter Decor Ideas for Halloween

Today I’m sharing some cute and thrifty DIY Harry Potter themed decor ideas that add a fun Halloween touch to your home.

Is your family big fans of the Harry Potter world? My boys and I are huge fans!

We have read all of the books (me, multiple times over), and watched all the movies (also multiple times!). Although Harry Potter is not directly Halloween themed, I think that it makes for a fun and unique take on traditional Halloween decor.

I’ve DIYed a lot of the elements I’m sharing today in this Harry Potter decor vignette for Halloween, and the printable is part of a large series of Harry Potter quote printables that I have available in my printable library. I have shared more details about that below!

Today I’ve joined a small group of my blogging friends who are also sharing their Halloween decor ideas with you. Be sure to check out what they are sharing and visit their posts by using the links to them that I’ve listed at the bottom of the page.

As I mentioned, the majority of this Harry Pottery themed Halloween decor vignette is either DIYed or thrift store or dollar store finds. The exception would be the Maurader’s Map, which was a Christmas gift for my son a couple of years back.

This little area in our home is on the main wall in our front foyer. Since it’s so close to the front door (where trick-or-treaters will be knocking!) it’s the perfect spot for a little Halloween vignette!

You can access this printable quote and all my Harry Potter quotes in the printable library – see this post for more details on that.

I’ve got all of these quotes available as free printables in both 5×7 and 8×10 sizes…

The black net covered lamp, the typewriter, and the mirror are year-round staples on our entry table. I moved a few vases out of the way and brought out my Halloween bin from the garage. I didn’t purchase a single new item for this vignette, as I’d made these pieces in previous years.

I’ve also added all of these free printable labels to my printable library.

Labels for jars.

All you need are some old jars or bottles, either from your home or thrift stores, to make these cute little Harry Potter themed potion ingredient bottles and jars.

I also made these fun DIY Halloween Spell books and shared the tutorial in this post.

This Harry Potter Halloween Decor vignette was fun and easy to make and put together, and really cost next to nothing!

I’ve also gathered a few fun Amazon finds that could help you add a Harry Potter theme to your decor this year...
