Housie Inspiration: Fabrics for Spring

Come see the fabrics I chose for some spring projects!

With spring well underway I have been thinking about making some new pillows for our living/dining room to brighten and lighten things up a little. One of the least expensive and easiest ways to change the look of a room is through throw pillows. I will post a simple envelope pillow tutorial really soon, but for now I am gathering together some fabric inspiration. Click on any of the fabrics shown individually below to be taken to their online source.

I already have a couple of fabrics that I plan to start with. A gorgeous yellow and white chevron by Premier Prints from Fabric.com

And, of course, I have leftovers of my beloved corn yellow and white Premier Prints Suzani that you saw in the laundry room curtains.

Now for some additional inspiration… I would love to go with some more blues and greens in the living/dining room area. We are even considering switching our red TV armoire with the turqouise armoire that we chalk painted last fall.  It is living in our basement family room right now… but you may see it move upstairs soon (fingers crossed).

For blue and green inspiration I found some fab new beautiful fabrics at both of my favourite online soures: Tonic Living and Fabric.com.

At Tonic Living, I am LOVING these faux boix (wood grain) fabrics by Premier Prints (Willow)… in yellow, blue, and green! (Also available in other colours… check it out).

This is just a matter of choosing which faux woodgrain colour to go for!I also love this blue/green ikat print by Braemore called Journey, Aquamarine (also at Tonic Living.)

I also love these new fabrics by Waverly that just arrived at Fabric.com.

Dreaming, Dreaming… now what to choose (can’t have them all, maybe one or two??)

What are you doing at your house to freshen up for spring?

Thanks for reading. And remember, my housie friends, HOME isn’t built in a day. Enjoy the journey!

I am not affiliated with either of these companies and was not reimbursed in any way for pumping up some of their gorgeous products… just wanted to share!

  1. Love those choices! I’ve been hankering after some new fabric (as my living room is just itching for a mini-makeover). Fabric.com is one of my favourite places to fabric shop!

    Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. I love all the blues and greens… so spring/summery. Even if I can’t possibly use (or afford) them all it is fun to “shop” for them!

    1. Thanks Shannah… it is going to be seriously hard to pick one or two to order! Thrilled you came over, and thanks for hosting your party!

  2. These are all my favorite colors (and what I am currently working with in my living room/dining room!) I have a beach color scheme going on, and I love it. The beach is my favorite place on earth and since I can’t live anywhere near one, I decided to bring the beach to me. I’m always making or buying new pillows to change things around.

The only obstacle is the giant red sectional in the room! I wish my husband was willing to move furniture. We have an couch and loveseat (which is squishy and ten years old, but still good!) in a grey/green color in the upstairs playroom. Unfortunately my husband doesn’t seem to want to move the red couch upstairs and the green/grey ones downstairs. I guess a couch is a bit different than an armoire. Maybe I’ll just have to hire someone!

    1. Or find some strong friends! Today I moved my brown leather living room couch to the basement and my off-white microfiber one upstairs to the living room. A little couch switcheroo. All while my husband was at work, and with the help of my sister-in-law. I needed the changed and he wasn’t for it (thinks our big black lab will ruin our white couch – fingers crossed he is wrong). So I know the trials we sometimes go through to get what we want…

Sometimes red can tie in nicely with beachy with the right mix of red and white, though. Could that work for you?
