“I’m Ready for the Beach” Summer Wreath

I love making wreaths, and this summer wreath I’ve named, I’m ready for the beach!

I’m Ready for the Beach.

So are my boys. We are heading out camping this weekend at a great ocean beach nearby.

And they. Are. Pumped.

It can be hard to talk my six year old out of packing absolutely everything he owns.

Like hockey jerseys. Spy gear. And a tennis racket.

But sunglasses, flip flops, and a sunhat are an absolute must, aren’t they?

What could be more perfect to dress up your front door than this “I’m Ready for the Beach” Summer Wreath?

Ready for the Beach Summer Wreath graphic.   To make this I used: – a plain burlap covered wreath form – burlap ribbon and chevron wired ribbon, both from bbcrafts – sunglasses, small flip flops, a hat, and a scarf (all from my local Dollar Tree) – my glue gun and glue A burlap wrapped wreath with a summer hat, flip flops, sunglasses.   I had an old wreath form with some super rustic burlap but wanted to give it a cleaner look so I used this great burlap ribbon and wrapped…. Wrapping the wreath in burlap. Until the wreath form looked brand new! The wreath all wrapped up in burlap.   It’s great to have a wonderful neutral wreath base that you can easily switch up for the seasons… Adding pink sunglasses and pink flip flops to the wreath. I added some pink sunglasses and these pink flip flops with a little touch of hot glue. Not too much so that it will be fairly easy to remove come time for our “fall” wreath… Attaching a straw hat with a scarf to the wreath. I love how easy this was! In the summer it is great to have crafts that only take a few minutes so you have lots of time left for FUN. The wreath hanging from the door by a pink ribbon. And I think it looks adorable on our front porch…. I’m diggin’ the navy and pink together. I haven’t asked my husband his opinion but I’m sure he will love it to!

Pin it to remember it!

  1. So here I was checking my Feedly this morning when I caught your piece of Primitive and Proper. As I was looking through your pics I saw your Lake sign in your living room! Sproat Lake?????? I was so excited. I am in Victoria (although I was born in Port) and my Dad lives on Stirling Arm and my step dad’s parents live on Faber!!!! My favourite lake in the world. I think it is so cool to find a successful blogger doing awesome design in dinky Port Alberni! What part of the lake are you on?

  2. That wreath rocks!! So awesome Krista… so are the rest of the summer DIY! Had to laugh about your boys packing everything under the sun! A couple weeks ago, we were packing for camping and I think every board game and Barbie doll we own made it out to the truck. Good thing in the midst of their excitement they don’t notice that half of it ends back in the house 😉 Have fun camping! And if you have a spare second, would love for you to link up at our “party” on my blog again please 🙂
