Surf Style Bedroom Makeover: Nautical Style Lighting Updates

Today I’m sharing some beautiful nautical style lighting updates that we made to this surf style bedroom makeover along with sources. I was super excited to partner with Lamps Plus on this part of the makeover.

You guys!

It’s almost here! We are pretty much finished Finn’s bedroom makeover and I can’t wait to share the full reveal with you! Today I’m popping in to share a little update along with one of my favourite details in the room: his nautical style lamps and ceiling fixture.

Isn’t it awesome when your lighting choices actually ADD to the design of a space? I feel like we totally hit the ball outta the park with our beautiful lighting finds in this room! I really wanted to go with a fresh, modern feel but was looking for a nautical edge, as well, given the surf or beach theme of his bedroom design. Plus I also knew I wanted to go with satin nickel/silver toned metals for his lighting. Enter this perfect option for the ceiling…

Don’t you feel like you would see that light inside a ship? It looks perfect in Finn’s room and provides tons of light – we’ve only ever had a fixture with a single ceiling bulb and the addition of the second bulb is so amazing in a somewhat dark, north facing room.

Finn is also totally over the moon about his new lamps! He loves the nightlight feature. One morning last week I went in to wake him up and found that he had turned on his nightlight in the early hours of the morning and then fallen back to sleep. It has three levels of light from low through regular through bright, so it’s perfect for both a bedside table and a desk.

Plus, I mean… just look at how it works with his bedroom decor! I kinda feel like it was invented for here…

I don’t want to share too much more, so I promise I’ll be back very shortly with the full bedroom reveal. Now excuse me, I’m off to finish the last couple of touches on Finn’s room and snap some pictures for you all!
