Our Full Spring Home Tour
I have put together a full tour of our home filled with spring decor!
Hello, friends!
Based on our calendar it is officially spring. By the weather? I’m not so sure!
We arrived back to Vancouver two days ago from our sunny spring break holiday to reports of snow in our hometown.
SNOW. On the West Coast. At the end of March?
Eek!
I’m quite hopeful it was a blip and that we are on the way to warmer, sunnier days. I’ve shared a ton of spring content with you over the past month as part of the Seasonal Simplicity series I’ve been hosting, and today I’m back to tie up all the bits and pieces that I’ve shared with our full spring home tour!
If you are new here and have hopped over from one of the other talented bloggers on this tour series, then welcome! My name is Krista and I love to share all kinds of DIY, decorating, organizing, printables, and recipes with my readers. You can read more about me and this blog here. Today I’m sharing our house all ready for spring (whether or not the weather cooperates).
I recently shared our front porch all ready for spring. We are currently in the middle of re-siding our house (which I will be sharing more details about soon), and things are not quite finished yet. Nothing that some beautiful DIY spring pots can’t distract your attention from! This year’s spring wreath was a quick and easy DIY wreath project as well and it turned out beautifully!
Come on in!
Our home is a fairly standard subdivision style plan and layout where you enter into a small foyer with a kitchen to the back, living room to the left and dining room in between those two spaces. We also have a long hallway, off of which are two bedrooms, one main bathroom, the laundry/mudroom, and our master bedroom/ensuite. The catch is that we are super fortunate to have a beautiful fresh water lake in our backyard, so the views from that side of the house are definitely our favourite.
Our entry hall is quite compact and I recently shared all the details about it (including my best tips for decorating a small entry hall). You also get a glimpse of our family command closet from the entry – it just might be one of the most utilized spaces in our entire home!
I picked up the vintage theatre chair at a local antique shop, and the sign is a (FAKE!) wood DIY that I shared a year or so ago.
The map wall is also a super simple and thrifty DIY project that adds a ton of interest and character to this tiny little corner of our home…

From the foyer or entry hall, we can head right into our bright living room. It’s one of my favourite spaces in our home now that we have finally tackled the fireplace install. I can’t even remember this room before we had this focal point! You can check out more of our spring living room tour here.
Since the fireplace mantel is still quite new, it’s always a huge treat for me to decorate it! I shared all the details on our simple spring mantel here. You might notice I’m quite a fan of wooden letters? I’ve actually got a book launching really soon with 35 DIY wooden letter projects, and I shared the info about my book here.
Our Ikea Farlov chairs are still my favourite place to sit! I shared my review of these chairs here. The cheery spring pillows were a recent fab find from HomeSense.
This spring is ALL about the pops of pastel colour. Blue is like a neutral around here, but the lilacs and pinks are a perfect touch for this time of year, don’t you think? I made the floral pillows with some fabric from Tonic Living, and the velvet pillows are also finds from HomeSense.

Our living room directly connects to our dining room -they are more like one large room, with the living room being vaulted and the dining room having a regular 8′ ceiling. We recently found this lovely buffet cabinet at Costco. Yes, you heard me correctly. Isn’t it gorgeous? I shared more details on this spring vignette here.
Our dining room flows right into our kitchen, which is definitely the most used room in our home. It also has the best view! We kept things pretty simple for spring, as the colours in our home already lend themselves beautifully to spring and summer. Flowers, flowers, and some more flowers…

Your home is so gorgeous, Krista! I love all of your spring touches, and then map wall gets me every time. You’d never know there was now outside! Thanks so much for hosting such an amazing tour!
Such a lovely tour of your beautiful home.!!!
I am a huge fan of copy catting and I copied your sweet little stool in front of your fire place…
may I use your photo on my blog to show what I was copying? xoxo
P.S. I am still searching the thrift shops for a coffee table much like yours…..:)
Fun! You certainly can use an image with link back:) I found my coffee table on Craigslist – because we don’t have many thrift stores nearby, I find that online pages can be really fruitful for great second hand finds! Good luck with your search:)
Your home is the epitome of spring, my friend! I just love your dining room with those coastal photos. Everything is simply beautiful, Krista!
So gorgeous! That view!!!
Did I see anything I love? How about in every photo. Your home I so colorful and the blues, oh my love it all. Lots of inspiration in your lovely welcoming home. And I am disgustingly envious of your lake and views. Your curtains are incredible also. enjoy your lovely home.
Happy Easter
Krista, there’s so much loveliness in this post, but what I most love is your use of color. Just the right amount to welcome the season, with pretty chalky brights against a gentler backdrop. Love it!!
Everything is always so beautiful in your home, and I knew you wouldn’t disappoint this time either! I don’t think I’ve seen your living room light fixture before… I love that! Beautiful tour, my friend! XO
Lovely home! I’m interested in your blinds. Are they custom?
Thanks for sharing your beautiful space :]
Happy Easter!
Hello! Your home is fresh, cosy and beautifull. I loved every peace of it. Great ideas and tastee colour you choose are delicate and perfect for springtime
So, so beautiful Krista! I always love your use of color. And your kitchen windows … perfect for framing that perfect lake view!
Krista your home is gorgeous as always! I love the bright colors throughout your home. I’m so envious of your lake views and dreamy kitchen! So gorgeous! Thank you for having me on this blog hop! Have a great week!
Wowza! Love your home, Krista! It’s just beautiful, colorful and very calming!
Thank you for inviting me into your home Krista. You are so sweet and I love what you do. My front entrance is tiny and drives me nuts but now I am excited to execute some of your ideas. How do I send you pictures when I’m finished? I want to share with you your inspiration.
Also — in your kitchen — did you paint your over-stove exhaust fan? It looks like it and I’ve been wanting to do mine but am afraid to …
One negative comment — your stools at the kitchen counter look terribly uncomfortable!! At least my sons and husband with their skinny bums thought so!
You certainly have the magical touch for decorating. So beautiful!
Love the curtains in the living room. Source?mary lou
Your home is so gorgeous, Krista. You always have me yearning for color in my home! Your home is so ‘happy’ and it matches perfectly with your lake view. Thanks so much for having me on your tour!
Hugs, Jamie
