Five Minute Dollar Store DIY Spring Easter Wreath
Short on time? I will show you how to make this 5 minute dollar store spring wreath fast!
Spring is almost definitely my favourite season.
Of course, summer gives it a run for it’s money. I love summer as well.
But I think there is something about the fresh crisp sunny days of spring, and the hope of new life that you see with each plant that begins blooming and leafing out… it is probably the most uplifting season to say the least.
We have had such a mild winter around here that spring seems to be coming very early this year. Even our forsythia is starting to bloom!
We’ve been known to get the odd random snowfall in March after a very warm February, but I don’t think we will see that this year. I feel like it is smooth sailing all the way to a warm summer now.
And I am ready to bring spring back to our house – outdoors and in!
One of the easiest and quickest ways to do that is with a new DIY wreath… like this Five Minute Dollar Store DIY Spring Easter Wreath…
I started out with a grapevine wreath form that I already had (I keep my eye out for them at garage sales and thrift stores to keep my expenses down). I also bought a long swag of faux greenery from my local Dollarama as well as six “stems” of white berries and Easter eggs. I also used some green and white chevron ribbon from my stash from last year.
First I wrapped the greenery swag around and around the wreath, tucking it in amongst the grapevine branches to hold it in place.
Then I bent my Easter eggs/berry “stems” into a rounded shape and attached them to the grapevine wreath form by tucking the end piece in amongst the tangled up grapevines. Because these “stems” are wired they hold nicely in place.
I layered the Easter egg/berry “stems” on top of one another, as you can see in the picture below. I have two of my six “stems” attached in this image below.
I kept working away until all six “stems” had been overlapped and attached and then adjusted it to make it look as even as possible.
Lastly, I attached a loop of ribbon to hang it with, and then wrapped another loop of ribbon around that to create the bow. I actually used a small safety pin from behind to keep the first loop of ribbon connected tightly just above where it loops onto the wreath form.
Done!
I love how fresh and crisp the green and white is… it reminds me of all the white crocuses and snowdrops I see popping up in people’s gardens in the early spring.
Want to try it?
