Lake Cottage Style Summer House Tour 2014 {and awesome Giveaway!}
Woot woot!! It is summer house tour time again!
If you are coming by for the first time, welcome!! I am so glad you are here.
I love summer decorating. We are blessed enough to live on a beautiful freshwater lake and our décor definitely reflects that.
So come on in and take the tour!!
I’ve got a fun twist planned for you today…. you get to choose the order you take your tour in!
So meander through our house at your own pace – we are thrilled to have you here.
And at the end there is a fun giveaway for a Keurig Coffee Maker and Godiva Gift Basket for you to enter as well- make sure not to miss that!!
Our front door leads directly into a small entry hall… this year I had added some hits of pink.
And yellow. Yellow is always wonderful in the summer. It makes me feel cheery just to look at it.
From the entry hall you can turn left and head down the hall to the bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry room or you can turn left and go into the living room.
Now it’s your choice!
Do you want to come in and see the living and dining room first?
Or head left down the long hallway and see the bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry room?
Did you end up back here after the tour? I hope you enjoyed it!!

Hi.. just fell into your blog. Gotta say, your house is gorgeous! Love how bright and clean everything looks. I especially love the pops of color everywhere. Your blog is my inspiration!!! Making me think of the oar I should have picked up at the thrift store last week but didn’t.. grrrrr
Hi Christine! Thank you for your sweet comments! I definitely love pops of colour… and a good oar at the thrift store? Well, there is always next time!
How beautiful!!!! I especially love the spindles on you wall gallery over the sofa, the bench on the front porch, the pew in the dining room, and all the high molding/wainscoting (not sure what to call it) adds so much charm. I need this in my home badly!! Great job!
I absolutely love your home. It’s so cozy and colorful and I wonder how you thought up all the neat decorating ideas. I would love to come home to something like that, well actually I don’t work anymore and I have back problems limit what I can do so I guess I would be blessed to spend my whole day outside or relaxing inside. I can’t wait to read all the DIY’s later.
I love the colors!! What’s the blue in the entryway?
Hello Jennifer- thanks! The blue in the entryway is called Colorado Gray – by Benjamin Moore. It is definitely a blue though- kind of a blue/teal/grey tone.
Thanks for the tour! Love the colors, the vibe…love it all. What a perfect retreat to return to at the end of a busy day!
Thank you for your kind words!!
Just took the tour…love the choice of color and the style…just lovely…. sparks the creative gene in me to get busy again in my home…
Over from Beneath My Heart and all the Boy Mom posts. Such a pretty and cheery home. Question on your ensuite bathroom, what is the blue color please?
Hi Lisa! So glad you came by:) The colour in the master bathroom is called “Ash Blue” by Benjamin Moore.
Hi Krista- your home is so pretty! I use a lot of those same colors- cottage green, turquoise and yellow. Lovely!
Love your house! I have the same IKEA furniture as your living room and was wondering if you made the pillows for the backs of the chairs. I love that look and it gives them a nice look and extra color rather than just small pillows.
Absolutely gorgeous!!!! Thank you for sharing and giving my some inspiration for my own home!!
You have an EXCELLENT gift in making awesome wall arrangements! Love the green spindles!
Girl, I love your home. I love how you style everything and it’s sooo inviting. You’re fabulous 😉

Your home is beautiful! Such an amazing inspiration! Can you share your source for the pink and turquoise rugs?
Thank you! I bought the rugs from a nearby home décor store called Home Sense – if you are in the US then I am told that it is very similar to your Home Goods stores. I love adding a fun hit of color in a simple way – and easy to change up!
What a fun tour! I love your neutral pallet with pops of color!
