Natural Rustic Gift Wrap Ideas
Are you loving the neutral, natural, rustic Christmas decor touches this season? Then make the gifts under your tree as pretty as the decorations on it with these natural rustic DIY gift wrap ideas.
How is your Christmas shopping coming along? I have to confess that I’m sorely behind this year. I spent all of the “Black Friday” weekend sales time shopping for things for our new build house and not for a single Christmas gift! I got a lot of our major house purchases off my list, so that was a huge relief. But the time has come this weekend to focus in on our Christmas shopping and wrapping. This year I’ve experimented with some super cute ideas for adding a natural feel to this neutral rustic Christmas gift wrapping featuring some pretty wood slices that I’ve had in my stash for a few years now, and I’m sharing all the details today!
I’ve also joined some of my friends who are sharing their beautiful DIY gift wrap ideas with you. Be sure to check out the bottom of today’s post to see what they are sharing.
When I had to pack up most of my craft supplies this past summer in order to move things into storage, I did keep out a few key items that I thought I would like to incorporate into our holiday decor this year. One of the things that I kept out was some wood slices that I’ve had in my stash for a few seasons. I really want to try making them into a garland, but I also used them as a fun way to add a rustic, natural touch to my gift wrapping this Christmas.
All I did was attach the wood slices to some twine using my hot glue gun…
Start by wrapping your Christmas gifts with some natural feeling paper… either patterned, or perhaps a mixture of kraft paper and white or a subtle, natural pattern. I picked up a silvery forest pattern paper, as well as a pine cone design at Walmart recently, and used these as the basis for neutral, natural rustic gift wrap styling.
I used my free printable Snowy forest labels to adorn the wood slices and attached some pine cones to my DIY flocked pine boughs (made from real pine!). I also tucked some flocked pine branches into the twine instead of any kind of ribbons or bows.
Twine is another key – and a super easy thing to sub in for the usual Christmas ribbon and bows. A little bit goes a long way, and it definitely gives your gifts a neutral, natural rustic feel.

I love these simple, natural touches, don’t you?
Even if you can’t cut these yourself from branches around your yard or in your area, then you can also order them. If you’re looking to create a neutral, natural rustic feel to your gift wrapping this season then these things might come in handy!
As I mentioned, some of my friends are also sharing their beautiful DIY Gift Wrap ideas today as well!
