Pottery Barn Knock Off Faux Succulent Arrangement
Come see how I recreated this succulent arrangement that I saw in Pottery Barn!
Good morning! Today I can’t wait to share this quick and easy Pottery Barn Knock Off Faux Succulent Arrangement that I created for this month’s Get Your DIY On Challenge. I love how it turned out, especially considering that it took only a few minutes to make and was such an amazing savings compared to the original in the store!
I found my inspiration in this arrangement, available at Pottery Barn for $99…
To make this I used:
– a glass vase from Dollarama ($3)
– various succulent plants in planters that I found on clearance (approximately $9)
– floral foam and moss ($1 each from the dollar store)
I started by ripping the succulents out of the little pots that they came in… If you don’t luck out and find succulents on clearance like I did then you can always buy some at a craft store (look for sales!!).
Once they had all been ripped out of their pots I cut a piece of floral foam to fit the shape of the bottom of the glass vase. I later discovered that you can actually buy round shaped floral foam so if you try this you may want to keep your eye out for that…
After putting my round piece of floral foam in the glass vase I added some moss to cover over the floral foam so that it wasn’t visible.
And then I simply stuffed the succulents into the foam…with the taller ones at the back.
Done!
I love how it turned out – and can’t believe what a great high end look it has considering that I put it together using such inexpensive items…
My version cost only $14 compared to the Pottery Barn version for $99!
Like this? Want to try it?
Then pin it to remember it!
This is my project for the Get Your DIY On Challenge: Knock Off Decor

Thank you Julia- and thanks for the pin!!
$99? Seriously? Your version looks better than the original for only a fraction of the cost! 🙂
Haha – thanks Christy. I actually like how mine has smaller “succulents” rather then the giant scary one in the PB version. That one looks like it might eat your hand if you get too close to it.
You nailed it! The succulents look fab! 😉
Thanks April!!
Love this! I’m not very good at taking care of live plants, so this is a great alternative for a black thumb like me!
Hi Erica! I am the same- I am okay with outdoor plants (I guess nature does a lot of the work, there) but really struggle with keeping indoor ones alive!! These will be easy:)
I love your DIY version – much better than the PB one. I would love if you would be willing to link it up to my Funday Monday post? http://brooklynberrydesigns.com/2014/05/funday-monday/
Thanks so much Brooklyn!!
Fabulous version Krista!!!! I really love succulents and you just gave me a fab idea! Thanks for sharing dear and have a great weekend!
Thanks so much Vel!! Hope you are feeling well- thanks for popping by!
Krista I still can’t believe the difference in price and yours looks amazing! I wish we had a Dollarama, you always seem to grab some amazing stuff there 🙂
Hi Mandy! They do have pretty great stuff there- often for more then $1. For example, the vase was $3. But still, pretty nice stuff for very reasonable prices. A diy-crafting heaven!
Yep– totally missed that memo! Oh well! I LOVE how your arrangement turned out, Krista! The colors of it are so beautiful, and you can’t beat the price! Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful weekend!
~Abby =)
Haha! Thanks Abby – really it only cost me an extra $3 because I bought those succulents on clearance a while ago (and wasn’t loving the little pots they came in anyhow) and I had the floral foam and moss already. Hope your week is going well, friend!
